In my case, I do have windows dvd maker. But when I run the program, it stops working and presents the "Not responding" message and closes. I never managed to open the program and use it's features. I even tried to reinstall it but I can't find it.
I have the minimum requirements, plus I run windows movie maker fine. I don't know what it might be. Please help.

ok HELP! I KNOW i have dvd maker. i made a shortcut on my desktop, i played with it a little bit. but then i decided to delete the shortcut and empty my trash can and now I CAN'T FIND IT ANYWHERE! so any tips to help me relocate or possibly download it again?

im stressin out, ive been tryin to burn my photos onto dvd but the fkr keeps sayin my dvd burner isnt installed...its a new pc n ive used it....i hav no idea wat to do...can smeone please help me. im using vista...seems alot of people hav the same problem

Try opening 'Programs' and see if it's listed in there. Or, Search for it in the Start Menu's search bar. Otherwise, why would deleting the shortcut delete the application itself? It shouldn't, unless indeed this wasn't a shortcut but in reality the program.

It's strange, because I didn't even see or ever use the Windows DVD Maker on my computer (HP m8020n Media Center) in the last year I've owned it, but I just did a full System Recovery, and the program (Windows DVD Maker) was suddenly THERE in my programs.

But of course it won't work and says 99% complete and fails to burn. This is bullshit. I HATE these "easy, natural, & fun" applications that Windows Vista's creators have thrown at us. What the ***?!? Can anybody help fix or explain it in LAYMAN'S terms?? And why should we HAVE to exert all of this effort on 'fixing' stupid *** that we PAID for yet doesn't even work as it's supposed to??!!

Well, it just said that it completed the disc. Holy Crap. I have to see it to believe it. I'll let you know.

As for the other drives someone else mentioned, make sure you even have a DVD-burner drive and the correct blank DVD for your burner (good luck finding that out, if you kept your manual(s). I myself was able to choose the other DVD drive from the drop-down menu. THIS is the HP Lightscribe DVD drive I INSTALLED MYSELF in the expansion bay, NOT the ONE FACTORY-INSTALLED ON THE COMPUTER, so WHY wouldn't the factory-original LightScribe DVD SuperMulti Drive/CD-Burner burn this fucking dvd???!!!

I tried playing the 'finished' DVD-R in a DVD-RW/-R home recorder/player and it said 'disc error'.

So much for that!!

It asked if I wanted to make a copy. Oh, sure, what the hell- let's try wasting another DVD!

Fixing your Windows DVD Maker's Stop/Error problems.                                    Start button , all programs , Windows movie maker , tools ,  options, Compatibility ,
               empty all - uncheck  all boxs , then OK .

Reboot your PC ,   Then try using the Window's DVD Maker .

PS , updating Window's and Window's codex will help,

*First is a codex internet link ,select all by - left click hold  - highlight following link   in blue - right click copy  /  Right click paste into internet explorer address bar - follow web page download intructions.

Your PC , left click Start button, bottom left of PC screen/ all Programs / Widows update ,follow instructions .


and if you have a Problem getting your DVD to work on your home entertainment ,
Go to DVD maker, options bottom right of window, make sure your setting are the following ,     start with DVD check / 4:3 / NTSC.

Please make sure your using a DVD disc , not a CD-R

I have a brand new dell with a built in DVD burner called WIndows DVD maker ! I was so excited and I burnt a DVD movie on the first evening playing with my new toy ! I was delighetd - so easy ! Next night I tried again and I got this message "There is no DVD burner installed. Please make sure your burner is connected" ! WTF !!! How did this chage overnight ???? Where has my burner gone and why is it changing from one night to the next ? I had a great idea and restored my settings ! Voila ! It owrked again....for one day !!! Next day same bloody message about no burner installed ! Does anyone knwo what the hell is going on and how to fix this little problem ?? Would appreciate comments and suggestions. Cheers for now.
