I used to have this problem too, I got a few suggestions that worked out for me. If your a laptop user like me, then use a good quality brand of blank DVDs. Make sure the disc isn't scratched. And while the DVD is burning keep the Media Player and Movie Maker closed until it's done. And make sure that the video isn't corrupted, like say you downloaded a DivX video, check the info and properties on it before saving it to your computer. Another suggestion, don't burn too much DVD's at once, because you could really fry up the disc reader and then it would'nt be able to read or write DVD's. I should know, I had to return my computer to best buy because it wouldn't function properly since the disc tray was overworked, I was stupid to do it the first time, but now that it's up and working i'm taking precautions with this.
