    Problems with menu chapters. Help!

    Hello,
When I do the menu in Windows DVD Maker, and use the file in mpeg_2 format, the chapters in the menu do not show film, remain black (such problem does not arise with files in AVI format). Maybe something have more expierence about this problem?  What can I do? (Sorry my bad english).

    Thanks.

My experience with DVD Maker (like Movie Maker) is that it will not handle .mpg files properly and reliably; so I routinely convert mine to a compatible file type.  A first place to start is to see if you have incompatible source (video and/or audio) files.  Try this URL (which applies to both XP and Vista):

    http://www.myvideoproblems.com/Tutorials/MovieMaker/File_type_compatibility.htm.

Another trick that sometimes works is to uncheck the boxes in Movie Maker| Tools| Options| Compatibility.
