Windows DVD Maker

DVD Maker tells me that there is no dvd burner! Device manager sees the burner and the drivers are up to date, but dvd maker doesn't see it! i have tried other programs and they work just fine. I enjoyed usng windows dvd maker and really haven't found anything as easy to use. Please help! I asked my brother (who works for geek squad) but i think i confused him, we live 900 miles away from each other and he wont make the trip just to fix my computer. he started saying something about the reg but i dont know anything about the reg. please help!

a format would might fix it. I see you are not the only one having this problem

well how do i do that? i've never had this problem before. even though no burning software is seeing the burner device manager still does....

A format is a reset of windows, But maybe you should try go back to an earlier driver to the dvd-burner. It sounds wierd, but that sometime fix my problems. also make sure that you have sp1 installed.

Alright after purchasing a new dvd burner and installing that with no problems, no burning software saw either of the burners, so i predded that nifty little f10 button and recovered windows. i lost most of my videos but now both burners work perfect in all burning software. the old one and the new one. so for $35 i have a second burner and windows works perfecrtly again...

i bought second burner from directron.com took 2 days to get here. very fast!

one more thing... Roxio Easy Media Creator 10, works just as well with more options....
