Re: MY FINSHED DVD HAS GREEN MENUS?

What version of Vista are you using? 32-bit or 64-bit?

Also make sure you have the right codecs, what are you trying to convert?

Have you tried converting other movies? Does the green on the menues appear again?

Re: MY FINSHED DVD HAS GREEN MENUS?

Remove the xvid codec and install Vista Codec Pack found here.

Once this has been installed try it again and let me know if it has fixed the problem.

Re: MY FINSHED DVD HAS GREEN MENUS?

I'm having the same problems with the green menus. I tried downloading the codec but I get an error message. Any idea what causes this problem and how to correct it? Some movies I've made come out fine and others have the half green scenes.

Re: MY FINSHED DVD HAS GREEN MENUS?

That is because some of the movies use a different codec.

Try using google to download the codec pack somewhere else, also make sure you are using the right one i.e. 32-bit or 64-bit.

The problem you are having is definately to do with codecs.

Re: MY FINSHED DVD HAS GREEN MENUS?

I downloaded the codec pack V437 32 bit and after I installed it Windows DVD Maker would freeze and stop working when 5% of the movie is encoded. It would then restart and do the same thing when I try again. I uninstalled the codec pack to get DVD Maker to work again and the half green menus are back only this time the video is visable in the box. Before, I couldn't make out what was showing in the half green boxes.

Re: MY FINSHED DVD HAS GREEN MENUS?

Did you remove all other codecs before installing the codec pack?

Also open up Windows Movie Maker and go into options and make sure only the codecs from the codec pack are selected.

Re: MY FINSHED DVD HAS GREEN MENUS?

If XviD videos become half-green, all you have to do is to open the XviD Decoder Configuration utility and check the "Compatibility renderer" checkbox, then try again.

    This solved my half-green xvids.

Note: of course this requires you to have XviD codec (1.1.2) installed and enabled, and disable any other codec which processes XviD (like ffdshow, etc).

Re: MY FINSHED DVD HAS GREEN MENUS?

    Hello,

I have Xvid 1.1.2 installed on my copy of windows vista 32-bit. Can you please explain how you reach the "Xvid decoder configuration utility" and change the settings you are talking about. I have had the green screen problem with all my movies so far.

    Thanks

Re: MY FINSHED DVD HAS GREEN MENUS?

It's in Start menu .. Start menu -- programs -- xvid -- configure decoder.

If no icons are installed for you, you can try to run the "C:\WINDOWS\system32\rundll32.exe xvid.ax,Configure" command, I think it should work..

Well, one of the methods above should bring up the XviD Decoder Configuration Utility. Check the "Compatilibity renderer" option ther, press OK and try run DVD Maker again.

Re: MY FINSHED DVD HAS GREEN MENUS?

i've tried the compatibility rendering thing, but now it seems that everytime i burn a dvd the menu is amazingly perfect with no green bars.  but the movie itself is stretched out vertically with black bars on the side.  i've tried to change aspect ratio settings and it doesn't matter i've made about 6 coasters now.  if anyone can help it would be much appreciated.
