Windows DVD Maker

Hey guys!!
As you might have guessed, I am new to Widows DVD Maker. Prefer it thanks to the Menu Syle options as most people are. Also it's Free and user-friendly (not at the moment though!).

As mentioned in the subject, there is no sound even after downloading the Shark codecs for Windows 7. Its an .avi file. Should I try converting to another format and then make a DVD? Probably! But not sure which format to convert into!

I am really sorry if you guys have to repeat yourselves as you normally do, but I would much appreciate educated guidance than the random sights that give BS info.

I had the same problem and this is what I found on another site and it worked for me. So I hope this works for you also...

Here is the answer:

The problem is linked to filter and codec you have installed on your computer. For anyone that have windows vista premium and use windows DVD maker to burn DVD. This is the exact solution to resolve the problem:

The filter and codec I installed on my computer was vista codec pack. Maybe some of you installed the same one. The problem comes from this codec pack. You need to remove that pack in the unistall program section. . Install the K-lite mega codec pack (compatible with vista and windows 7) that you can found here: http://codecguide.com/download_mega.htm

For anyone that have the same problem on other burner software and on windows xp, try to install an another codec but you can choose the same one because this codec is windows xp compatible.
