Windows DVD Maker

I used the DVD maker to burn two dvds already but now when I'm trying to customize new ones, it keeps closing down on me unexpectedly. So I have to keep starting over. I read stuff about a codec? But what is that? I've also checked for updates & installed new updates but I'm still having this problem. Help?

I had a similar problem on my windows 7 machine. I couldn't even create disk it stopped after 0.8%, My solution is to factory reset machine and then try start dvd maker. I assumed that there may have been missing programme files. I also discovered that i was trying to import files to the disk that where still on the original disk that i was copying to so make sure any files are actually on the machine first. I hope this is of some help
