Windows DVD Maker

I just bought a new computer with Windows 7, 64-bit, and I wanted to burn some dvd's. However, very often when I insert a disc into the drive nothing comes up to show that it's in there and it doesn't show up when I go into my computer icon either. Are these dvd's not being recognized or am I not doing something right?

Please help. Thank you! :)

          I will try to find some good solution of it. maybe it requires the driver. because some system requires driver for everything. i will ask about this then i will tell you.
